A Primer on Height Safety

Working in high places in a secure fashion isn’t just a self-explanatory requirement to assure the health and safety of your workers, it leaves them to do their chore properly without headaches.

Falling from height is the greatest single cause of deaths and the second biggest cause of injuries in the workplace in the British Isles. There is a regulation called “The Work at Height Regulations” - this places responsibilities on company owners, the self employed and anyone that controls the work of others to offer the most fail-safe method of access for the intended application.

One needs to choose the best tool for the job at hand. If the task needs some concentration, you don’t need the hassle of thinking you might fall. This is why a Power tower is really the best choice for such intensive jobs at height.

Let’s look at one such tool. The Power tower is a continually developing array of push into position, Mobile access platforms, built to allow for a selection of secure, handy and practical solutions when working at lower heights. No more clambering up large platform steps, podiums or put up scaffold towers. Simply push into position, walk on to the platform, and push a button.

Working far above the ground comes with secondary risks as well - to other workers below you. One needs to make safe the working area below to make sure falling debris won’t land on employees below; for example those using Floor saws directly below the workzone above.
