“Favorite Quotations… What Do They Say About Us?”

Have you stopped to think what your favorite quotes are
saying about you and your life experiences?

How you relate to them? How they relate to you?

Today… I decided to take one of my favorite quotes and see
how it applies to me. You may want to do the same thing.

This quote by Louis L’Amour is one of my favorites…

“Up to a point a man’s life is shaped by environment,
heredity, and movements and changes in the world about
him. Then there comes a time when it lies within his grasp
to shape the clay of his life into the sort of thing he wishes
to be. Only the weak blame their parents, their race, their
times, lack of good fortune, or the quirks of fate. Everyone
has it within his power to say, “This I am today; that I will be
tomorrow.” -Louis L’Amour

I can look back and see how my life was shaped by early
environment, heredity and changes in the world around me.

My life was shaped by my parents, friends, schools,
experiences, injuries, where I lived, moves I made, and
treatment from others, all had an effect on me.

Some experiences affected me deeply. Some of these
emotional feelings remain with me and affected me later in
my life.

There came a time when I realized I control my own reality
with my thinking, imagination, ideas and actions. What I
think about and focus on creates my reality. My thoughts and
imagination cause my actions. So I began to shape my life.
Knowing, I control what I can DO…BE… and HAVE.

That’s when I made the most progress in my life, when my
ambitions and goals came to the surface. I decided what I
wanted to do with my life. Many times these were goals and
dreams I had at an early age.

Sometimes, my early goals and desires faded into the
background, but were still in my memory.

I know people who habitually blame parents, environmment,
race, color, location or anything else they can think of
except… where the blame should be… On them!

No one else is to blame… I take responsibility for the
good and the bad in my life, because, I create my own
reality. It’s a weak person who blames everything on
somebody or something else.

The things I put off are my own fault. I can’t blame others,
or my environment for not taking an action… because, now
I see clearly…

I Create My Own Reality!

My point of power is Now… Today! I can’t change the past.
The present moment is where I can make changes for my
future. My thoughts, imagination, ideas and actions today,
create my reality tomorrow.

I become what I think about all day long. That determines
what I will do, be, and have tomorrow and in the future. I
create it!… I’m responsible for the good and the bad. What I
focus on becomes my reality. That’s true for any and all
areas of my life.

And… I believe it and accept it!

Get a Bong for a Buddy this Xmas

If you’re in the market for unique Xmas presents and you have a smoker in your Xmas gift list acquiring a bong should be a fun move, and in these advanced times you can even buy bongs online.

These smoke inventions come in a variety of exceptional molds, tinges and prices varying from the exclusively utilitarian to the wild and whacky. Primitive plastic bongs can be purchased very cheaply, but if your gift recipient is really special you might hope to obtain a bong to fit. There are lots of alternatives such as a mutli level ceramic bong that looks like a device from a pharmacist’s research laboratory, to a ten user bong molded like Yoda’s …just the thing for the Star Wars fan in you social circle!

As with most www spending fantastic deals can be encountered if you’re willing to spend time looking around, and you can usually save money on head shop prices. In some examples significant deductions or free transportation are on offer which can really bring down the total bill on your festive season purchases.

A bong acts as a positive present for your pet smoker even if you’re hoping to get them to cease. As the vegetable matter is percolated when it passes through the bong liquid the residues ingested are not as detrimental, and in the end less likely to cause tobacco related illnesses. And in the final analysis, it’s their choice and their wellness!

Remember The Titans –Let Them Never Forget…

In the popular movie, “Remember the Titans” most
of us most likely can recall our favorite scene.
Do you remember this one?

The first challenge of the coach was to get the
community to break up the racial divide and pull
together. So the head coach (played by Densel
Washington) decides to take his players away to
camp. Even with the change of environment racial
barriers still stood tall and tension were high.
After the first few days the coach noticed the
communication between the black and white players
had not improved in the least, matter of fact it
was getting worse. The players were not executing
their plays, mistakes were made purposely in order
to make others look bad and as a result fights
continually broke out. So here is what the coach
decided to do.

At lunch one day the coach pulled a particular big
fat happy go lucky lineman up to the front of the
lunchroom. This kid didn’t care black, white,
purple, green, he just was happy to be there. The
coach asked him to tell the whole team ONE thing
about his roommate that he learned in the few days
they were there. This kid rattled on for what
seems an hour about his roommate. However, with no
surprise to the coach, when he asked all the other
players to do the same, none of them could mention
one thing about the other. How could they expect
to win souls (I mean games) if they didn’t believe
in their cause and pull together as a team? So as
a result the coach made each player learn things
about one other between each practice session
until each player new something about all other
players. In short, if you recall the rest of the
movie, that exercise brought the team together and
not only inspired everyone, but also they went
undefeated that season. However, what if those
racial barriers had not been broken down how many
souls (I mean games) do you think the Titans would
have won that year? Would they have won even one
game?

Is there any difference in winning games and
winning souls for Christ? Is there any difference
in the lack of communication that once paralyzed
the Titans and Christians today? Sometimes we just
going through the motions of going to church,
going to parties and not breaking down barriers?
And at the end of the day even years later do we
know any more about our friends? Can you count on
both of your hands the number of people you hang
with that you know things about them deeper than
just their name or social status?

The turning point in the last game of the season
came when the coach got angry and serious enough,
pulled is defensive players aside and said. “From
this moment forward I want you to let no one, I
mean no one get past you and make another yard.
Let them never forget the day they played the
Titans!!!!”

From this moment forward, I challenge you to let
no one; I mean no one, get past you. Let them
never forget the day you loved someone enough to
find out more about them.

White Sun - The Silence of the Wise

Although the truth cannot be seen, heard or touched, yet it is the origin of all things and it is beyond time, space and religion. The great ancients who lived in accordance to the truth were men of subtle wisdom and penetrating intelligence. They were so profound that others did not understand them and such people are the founders of the Five Great Religions like Lao Tze, Confucius, Sakyamuni Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad.

Everything under Heaven has a beginning which can be said as the origin of things. If we know the origin, we can then say there is a mother of all under Heaven and everything is its offspring. By observing with a quiet and still mind, one can perceive the origin of things and in Tao, we say, “Tao is great, Heaven is great, Earth is great, Humanity is great and within the universe are all things and humans are one with the universe and God. There is going and there is coming. Everything returns to nothingness. Man is in harmony with Earth, Earth harmonises with Heaven, Heaven harmonises with Tao and Tao harmonises with what is natural.”

The truth is not something rare and strange. It is not like he can turn into a beauty today and turn into a devil-like creature tomorrow. Then all of a sudden he turns into a ninety-nine year old man. All these are not the truth because the truth is we grow and mature naturally through learning and studying. Don’t expect to become a great person overnight because we need wisdom and it takes time to absorb and get experience through learning. Collect our wisdom slowly then our virtuous nature will be the same as the Light Beings.

How can we save this despairing world? asked my Heavenly Master JiGong. Start with oneself. Then change the most beloved people, our own family members. Correct oneself well; enlighten and transform others. The statement said, “In order to govern the state well, it is necessary to regulate the family first. It is not possible for a man to discipline others when he is not able to discipline himself and his own family.”

It is advised, “As a member of the family, we must treat the other family members with a sincere heart. Sincerity is Tao. We must treat everybody this way. Sincerity between husband and wife; there must be mutual understanding for each other. Between father and son (parents and children), when it calls for strictness, the father should be strict. When it calls for loving-kindness, the father must advise the son with kindly words. Then only, people would not find themselves living in a battlefield and dwelling in hell. Hence, when it’s time to be strict, the father must guide the son with truth. He should give the son a true, correct and sensible way to follow. And in showing his loving-kindness, he must use the Principle of Oneness to untie the knot in the son’s heart, so that both hearts can link together.”

Live a peaceful life. When there is friction at home, it depends on what type of heart you would use to transform the friction into peace. Likewise if there is friction outside the home, the same applies. Everyone wants to live in peace and when everyone gathers in harmony, wisdom will be generated and the world will be at peace.
